Spirituality, prayer, faith, religion… it can all get pretty complex sometimes. We can get lost in the footnotes. There are too many books about spirituality and prayer to count and many of them are brilliant and beautiful. Now, absorbing wisdom and guidance from the great spiritual masters of the past left to us in these wonderful works of literature is a great way to become a spiritual master ourselves… but how can we start to grow in our spiritual lives without having to read thousands of books? Well, perhaps rather than look backwards into history, we should look down, at the children. Children can teach us a lot of things about life and about trusting in God the Father – today, Fr. John Muir relates to us what he learned about the spiritual life through his experience teaching first graders.
